Vicente Rubio Costa, known as Pity, develops a body of work that occupies the territory where painting ceases to represent and begins to reveal. Linked to the Valencian art scene, his language is built upon gesture, the tension of color, and a plastic intuition that shuns the predictable.

His painting does not seek to describe, but rather to provoke an experience. Each composition acts as an energy field where layers, strokes, and contrasts generate an open, intimate, and, at the same time, profoundly contemporary reading. There is a desire in his work to liberate form, to allow the painting process to be visible, almost physical.
Far from the decorative, Pity presents pieces that function as presences: works that transform the space they inhabit and demand an active gaze. His language connects with a European abstract tradition, but expresses itself with its own voice, direct and emotional.
In the context of a private collection, his work is perceived as a deliberate choice:
a commitment to authenticity, the energy of gesture, and painting understood as a living act.
